I’ve mentioned them here before, but I cannot stress this source enough. Message boards, or forums as they are regularly called are the single best way to drive targeted traffic quickly and efficiently.

By simply posting on 5 or 6 niche related forums you can be increasing your monthly visits into the thousands. Don’t believe me? Just take a look at some of these numbers.

I am just going to be conservative here–because if you start on extremely popular forums that are related to your niche you are going to see a much larger amount of visitors.

Manipulate The Numbers Game

Let’s say you get a measly 20 visitors from each forum, per day. That kind of traffic multiplied by just six forums is going to give you 120 visitors a day. At that rate within 30 days your website will have seen 3600 visitors. That is completely FREE and more importantly completely targeted traffic.

Now just imagine if you got 30 or 40 visits from each message board per day. Obviously your traffic is going to go through the roof. The best part of this traffic is that it is totally targeted for your niche. This means that if you are selling a product or service your conversions will simply increase.

I can say this beecause I have experienced it myself–you wouldn’t believe how many pairs of high heel shoes I have moved for retailers I affiliate with simply because of the traffic that comes from message boards.

Leverage The Opporunity

It is important to remember that you need to find message boards that are worth posting on. This means that you need to seek out popular forums that are related to your niche.

If you find a forum that hasn’t seen a post in the last day you need to move on and find another. The key to seeing success with the completely FREE technique is that you if make posts on a large forum, one that is bustling with activity you will just get more daily visitors.

Another thing you should be doing is making your signature file read as a question, almost in a cliffhanger fashion. For example if you are selling a backlinking service, use the sig line to ask a question related to your service instead of saying “Backlink Services $49.99.”

Peak user’s interest and you will see click thrus. Leave it up to your sales page or website to do the selling.

Simply put, if you are a marketer who is not taking advantage of this free source of traffic you are missing out. Forums are a goldmine just waiting to be harvested when it comes to increasing traffic to your blog.
